Test Ingest for 3.3

Drop file in ingest watchfolder
Drop a small media test file into the Ingest to Curator folder.  

Browse to XChange Manager Webpage

Browse to:

https://localhost/XChangeManager/Device/List

Login as sysadmin when prompted:



Check XChange Manager Devices
Click on the name of the device. There should be only one device, created by the Process Engine First Time Setup workflow, with the same name of the storage device with the Curator folder structure. 

Click on Ingest to Curator:

This page shows the assets detected in the watchfolder, the asset from the previous step will appear here and once the Completed Date/Time column field is filled the ingest process will spawn. If a process does not spawn, select "Completed" under the Re-Activate section and tick the asset that failed; click the "Re-Activate Selected Assets" button to start the process again.

Check Process Engine Monitor

Browse to and replace localhost with the FQDN\IP Address of the IIS webserver:

https://localhost/ProcessEngineMonitor/Index

Expand the "XChange - Import Files - Spawn by type - XCHANGEMANAGER-INGEST-TO-CURATOR" process and expand the "Ingest File" spawned process shown.

The screenshot below shows the entire process when completed, use the refresh option on the far right to update the process as it progresses or hide and show the process with the drop down arrows.

If any of these processes fail, check troubleshooting for possible solutions.

Check Device Director

Browse to and replace localhost with the FQDN\IP Address of the IIS webserver:

https://localhost/DeviceDirector/Job/List

The screenshot below shows an example of the jobs spawned:


Login to Curator Clip Link

Browse to and replace localhost with the FQDN\IP Address of the IIS webserver:

https://localhost/CuratorClipLink


Search for ingested asset
Click the Spy glass symbol to search the entire database, or search for the name of the ingested asset:

Play asset
Click on the thumbnail of the ingested asset and check playback begins.
