Adobe application-specific settings for importing / placing |
The steps below are optional as a default will be given in each of the Adobe applications that Curator for Adobe works with. These options set:
|
Set After Effects Importing options |
In After Effects you can set the default behavior for the Import button including the setting for how the composition PSD file will be imported as well as the local path for the temporary storage of the files fetched from Curator. After Effects can import Photoshop compositions (PSD assets) in three ways which impact the ability to manipulate the PSD layers once in After Effects. IPV exposes After Effect's provided options globally as a setting to Curator for Adobe rather than when importing an individual asset. Open Preferences as in the step above and select Importing on the left.
Select from:
- Footage - (default) results in PSD imported as a single flattened image.
- Composition - will import a composition with images in layers, where images are trimmed to the overall size of the composition.
- Composition - Retain layers Sizes - will import a composition with the original size and placement of images in layers.

Set Premiere Pro Importing options |
In Premiere Pro you can set the default behavior for the Import button for Media, what metadata are imported with the asset, and the local path into which the temporary copies of fetched files will be downloaded. Open Preferences as in the step above and select Importing on the left.

Set Photoshop or Illustrator Placing options |
In Photoshop / Illustrator you can set up the default placement type for the Place Embedded button in Curator for Adobe. Where there is more than one source of high-resolution images available, directly clicking on Place Embedded will execute the fetches from the default storage configured here and the dropdown menu allows the selection of any alternatives. Open Preferences as in the step above and select Placing on the left.
The type selected here will be executed when clicking on Place Embedded directly. The other option(s) will still be available from the dropdown selection available to the side of the Place Embedded button. You will be provided with the starting value for the Default place type as set by your Administrator (usually Hi-Res). If there is more than one source of high-resolution materials, you will be presented with a dropdown menu of the sources to select from. It is down to the Curator's administrator to inform users which high-resolution sources they should be using for which work. Select the required source to set for the Default place type e.g.: |
