In this guide we will cover how to export/import workflows via Process Designer for cases such as when upgrading a Curator system, taking backups of workflows, and/or updating them. We will be covering single export/imports and bulk exports/imports. You will need to have access to the host where Process Designer is installed for this - this will the installed on the Process Engine Server.
Single Exports
Search for Process Designer and open it.
For exporting a single workflow, you will need to press on File in the top left corner of the menu, followed by clicking Open.
You will be presented with a menu consisting of all the workflows in the system, then you will need to search for the desired one and open it (in this instance: “PEA – Compress to Zip” workflow).
Once the workflow is open, select File in the top left corner once again and select Export.
Select a destination where you would like to save the file in an XML format.
Single Imports
Once in Process Designer, click on File in the top left corner followed by selecting Import.
Select the XML workflow that you are going to import (in this instance: “PEA – Compress to Zip” workflow).
The workflow should be successfully imported.
Bulk Exports
Open Process Designer and click on File followed by selecting Bulk Export.
Select the workflow which you’d like to export and choose an export location, you can also press the All button that will mark all workflows to be exported, then click export.
Wait for the workflows to be exported until you see a Success list showing all the exported workflows.
Bulk Imports
Open Process Designer and click on File followed by selecting Bulk Import.
Select the workflows which you would like to import and click Open.
You will be presented with a success message from completing the import.
